Westinghouse has completed its acquisition of BHI Energy.

Westinghouse said the deal creates “the nuclear industry’s first fully integrated outage, maintenance and modification services business.”

Weymouth, Massachusetts-based BHI has provided specialty services and staffing solutions to the power generation and electricity transmission & distribution end markets for more than 40 years.

The company offers engineering, construction and maintenance services and is represented at 130 project locations globally, according to its website.

On the nuclear side, BHI says its services range from “new construction and start-up through shut down and decommissioning.” The company notes it has been a primary staffing supplier to nuclear power facilities across the nation since 1980. This includes providing services in support of all operating commercial nuclear plants, 10 of the last 11 nuclear plant restart projects and 38 decontamination & decommissioning facilities

With more than 8,500 employees, BHI mainly serves customers across the United States and Canada.

BHI has been a portfolio company of AE Industrial Partners (AEI), a U.S.-based private equity firm that specializes in aerospace, defense, power and utility services.

Terms of the transaction involving Westinghouse were not disclosed.
